Commentary
This is a stereo record player that took advantage of the technology used in the PL-4 and was released at an affordable price.
A hysteresis synchronous motor is adopted for the motor, which is resistant to voltage and load, and realizes more accurate rotation.
The turntable has a diameter of 30 cm, a weight of 1.4 kg, and a precision finish of cast aluminum.
In addition, the lower end of the shaft is conical, and the bearing is precisely machined from a gunmetal to achieve more precise rotation.
The tone arm uses a dynamic balance type.
In the dynamic balance type, the weight of the pickup itself is 0 and the needle pressure is applied by a special spring so that the pressure at the tip of the needle is constant and uniform needle pressure is applied to both sides of the sound groove.
The cartridge mounting part conforms to JIS and EIA standards.
The MM type cartridge PL-C1 is used.
The mass of the vibration system is reduced by using a 0. 6mm-diameter duralumin pipe on the cantilever in which the needle is implanted. In addition, by implanting a 0. 7mil-diameter diamond needle without crushing the tip of the pipe, divided vibration in the high frequency range is reduced. This is combined with a cylindrical magnet with excellent crosstalk.
