In order to bring out the full performance of metal tape, research has been carried out focusing on the head and the stereo cassette deck has been successfully mounted with metal tape position.

The recording / reproducing head uses Sendust alloy to prevent magnetic saturation even in metal tapes with high MOL (maximum output level) in the high-frequency range, so that there is no sound quality degradation due to head saturation, and distortion at high input is prevented.

Because metal tapes have a high coercive force, it is difficult to erase sound once recorded. In order to achieve sufficient erasing characteristics, we have developed and adopted a newly designed ferrite erasing head. We have also adopted a double-gap structure to obtain a strong magnetic field.
In order to prevent the head from generating heat, the core is attached to a mounting base that also serves as a heat sink with high thermal conductivity.

Equipped with a high-torque DC servo motor, the capstan shaft is processed with high precision, and rotation unevenness is reduced by a large flywheel and twin belt system.

It is equipped with a Dolby system that adopts newly developed IC.

The recording amplifier uses a recording amplifier with a wide dynamic range and excellent linearity.

It uses a level meter that covers a wide range of -20dB to + 8 dB, and is equipped with a five level peak indicator that displays the peak level of the recording source in five levels (0, + 2, + 4, + 6, + 8 dB).

It uses the Pioneer Music Select System (PMS) and automatically detects and plays back the head of a song when you want to skip the current song and move to the next song, or when you want to listen from the intro again.
It is also equipped with REC mute which can create the interval between songs necessary for PMS to detect when recording.

It is equipped with various functions for tape play such as memory stop and memory play mechanism, mixing of line input and MIC input, cue & review, output level control, absence recording mechanism, etc.

Metal, STD/CrO2Equipped with 3-stage switching tape recorder of Fe-Cr.
STD and CrO2Switches automatically depending on whether there is a detection hole in the tape.
