Commentary

An AV amplifier that supports THX Surround EX.

It is compatible with the THX ULTRA standard proposed by Lucasfilm of the United States.
In addition to the THX Cinema Mode, we have also obtained certification under the LucasFilm standards for power amplifier performance and operability.

Equipped with a decoder compatible with THX Surround EX and DTS-ES.
With the VSA-D8EX, it is possible to reproduce 7.1 ch surround sound with a Surround EX-compatible source by connecting an external 2 ch amplifier and surround back speakers.
In addition, the THX Cinema mode allows you to play back the surround effect of the latest THX Theater with the source recorded in 5.1 ch.

Equipped with an MPEG-2 AAC decoder, it is compatible with BS digital broadcasting.

In the power amplifier section, all five channels are equipped with direct energy MOS-FET.
This device has features such as low power loss due to heat generation, highly efficient signal amplification and excellent power linearity, contributing to accurate speaker drives. By selectively using this direct energy MOS-FET, the operating conditions of all channels are matched, minimizing differences in sound quality and tone quality between channels.

The video terminal is equipped with D4 video terminal, component video terminal, S2 video terminal, etc.
The audio system is equipped with a multi-channel direct input terminal, a banana plug speaker terminal, and an optical and coaxial digital terminal.

The internal structure uses direct construction.
This method simplifies the signal path, which is less susceptible to noise, by minimizing the signal path, separating digital and analog circuits, and properly arranging parts according to the signal path. In this way, we are pursuing higher quality sound and image reproduction.

Equipped with multi-channel digital noise reduction.
Compensates for noise in audio signals from cassette tapes, VTRs, FM/AM tuners, and other devices, making the sound less noisy and easier to listen to.

The D/A converter is equipped with a 96kHz/24bit D/A converter.

Equipped with advanced theater mode.
This function is a sound field mode unique to Pioneer. You can choose the sound field that best suits the style of the living room and the sound taste of the user while retaining the essence of surround formats such as DTS and Dolby Digital.
In 7-D theater mode, 2-channel sources such as Dolby surround sound can be played in 7.1 channel multi-speaker surround sound.

Equipped with Midnight listening mode, it can improve the sense of presence that tends to be lacking when enjoying movies or music at low volume such as at night.
This mode adjusts the frequency response, balance, dynamic range, and other characteristics of the human auditory sense according to volume changes.

The power supply section uses a 70-micron copper foil printed circuit board.

Large thick aluminum heat sink is adopted.

A 4-stage FL dimmer display is used for the display part.

Comes with a large AV preset learning remote controller of all self-illuminated key type.
