FM stereo tuner with automatic IF bandwidth switching
Front end of input double tune configuration and frequency linear type high precision 7 series varicon is adopted.
In addition, an ultra-low distortion factor dual-gate MOS FET (x3) with a wide dynamic range and low generation of high-order harmonic distortion such as third order distortion is adopted for the elements of the 2-stage RF and mixer stage.
It is equipped with automatic 2-stage switching of IF bandwidth that automatically realizes the best sound quality according to the radio wave condition of the receiving area.
For high-S/N stations, the WIDE position is selected, and a phase equalization filter operates in addition to a wide-band 4-element linear phase filter with a county delay time within ± 0.2 μ s, to obtain low-distortion sound quality.
In low S/N reception areas, the NARROW position operates, and adjacent station interference is sharply cut with a selectivity of 85 dB.
In addition, a D-MOS FET is used for the IF input stage, and four high-slew rate double-base differential ICs are used for the filter coupling element, resulting in improved quality.
The detector employs a wide-band balanced ratio detector that strictly selects the quality through blocking. In addition, the MPX section of the PLL / IC incorporates an auto-canceler that cancels the pilot signal at the same amplitude and opposite phase. In addition, sufficient NFB is applied inside the IC to reduce distortion.
It is also equipped with a beat canceler that can extract pure 38 kHz switching signals (for LR separation). It has achieved significant results in reducing mid-range distortion and high-range beat, and realizes low distortion and high separation over a wide range.
The audio section uses a Super Servo DC amplifier.
The power supply uses a ± 15 v constant voltage power supply and a powerful power supply equipped with a high-capacity Chemi-Con. Three bus lines supply power to the MPX and audio.
The low-impedance power supply and distribution line and power supply section further improve the musical performance.
