The newly developed A-OMF Monocoque cone and digital amplifier VL Digital are flagship sub-woofers developed by gathering the best technologies that Onkyo can have now.

The unit is equipped with a newly developed 30cmA-OMF monocoque woofer.
The A-OMF Monocoque uses a multi-layer structure of PEN fiber, cotton, and aramid fiber. Furthermore, by making the PEN fiber into a twill structure, we succeeded in eliminating resins between fibers, thereby improving the rigidity and internal loss of the diaphragm.
In addition, the center cap and diaphragm are integrally molded to form a bowl-shaped structure with no inflection point, further increasing rigidity and completely eliminating the factor of split vibration.
In order to drive this diaphragm faithfully, we use a large voice coil with a diameter of 100 mm, an anodized aluminum voice coil bobbin with improved heat resistance and transmission characteristics, and a neodymium magnet with high magnetic flux density, consisting of 16 magnets with diameters of 24mmx6mm.
In addition, by installing double dampers, it is designed to firmly support the diaphragm even at large amplitude.
In order to firmly support the structure of the weight class, an aluminum die-cast frame is adopted for the frame, and unnecessary resonance from the frame itself is suppressed by not having a refracting surface. In addition, by keeping the magnetic circuit inside the frame and firmly holding it, unnecessary shake of the whole unit is suppressed.

The power amplifier uses a PWM (pulse width modulation) method for A/D modulation with less noise outside the audible band, and uses a VL Digital digital amplifier originally developed for pure audio.
The VL Digital is an integral-type modulation circuit with two circuits consisting of a vector generator, an integrator, and an inversion trigger generator. Therefore, even if spike noise, which is the cause of conversion error, enters from the outside, the spike noise itself has a symmetrical waveform in the upper and lower sides, so the energy of the upper and lower waveforms cancel each other out, enabling error-free A/D conversion.
This amplifier realizes an instantaneous current supply capability (HICC) of 100A, which is an indication of speaker drive capability.

In place of the circular duct, which easily emits standing waves inside the cabinet and easily generates strong standing waves from the duct itself, we have adopted the advanced AERO ACOUSTIC DRIVE, a slit-type duct developed by our own technology.
By adopting a thin rectangular cross section, not only can unnecessary high-order noise components be attenuated, but it is also advantageous in viscous resistance of the air, making it possible to reproduce low sound with a sense of speed.
In addition, by separating the cabinet and duct, the effect of mutual vibration is suppressed, and reproducibility at the minute level is improved.

It is equipped with functions such as auto standby function, 12 v trigger capable of interlocking power supply with external equipment, phase selection switch, 4-stage switchable high-cut filter, switchable filter, etc.
