Commentary

A two way speaker system that employs a slit system and twin drive system.

In the slit method, a slit is provided on the front surface of the woofer unit. The effect of this slit makes the wave surface spherical, which improves the directional characteristics. Even at 1 kHz, there is almost no directivity and broad characteristics are obtained.

The E-212A uses a twin drive system.
In this system, the two woofer units have slightly different materials for the vibration system, such as cone paper and voice coil, and the frequency and impedance characteristics including fo and Qo are slightly different. In addition, a tapered partition plate inside the cabinet prevents internal interference, and a network is provided for each of the two woofers.
These structures improve the defects of the conventional same-unit parallel drive.

There are 2 types of high compliance type 16 cm cone type woofer in the low range.
The cone paper uses long fibers made of foreign-made conifer wood with high Young's modulus and low vibration. The newly developed edge reduces the weight of the woofer vibration system and improves linearity. The damper also uses synthetic fibers that are highly synthesized and can handle large amplitudes.

A 2.5 cm inverted dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses an inner drive and inverted dome system. A concave surface is placed in the front and a voice coil is mounted in the middle of the diaphragm. This structure suppresses the rolling phenomenon and stabilizes low-frequency operation. In addition, there is no degradation in characteristics due to divided vibration, which tends to occur in high-frequency when the diaphragm itself is soft. In addition, since the most efficient driving point is selected by observing the vibration form with a laser, high efficiency close to the horn type is realized.
The diaphragm is made of carefully selected foreign-made pulp.

The enclosure uses a rigid particle board and has a sealed structure with a tapered interior divided into 17 and 11 liters.
In addition, the exterior has a Shiraki style sen-finish.
