Commentary
This is an AV amplifier equipped with THX Select certified 7 ch amplifier and various input / output terminals.
It features a THX Select-certified 7-channel amplifier and an THX Surround EX decoder for two surround back channels and 7.1 channel playback including subwoofer.
In addition to Dolby Digital, it is equipped with Dolby Pro Logic II which realizes 5.1 ch playback of various sources, DTS-ES of 6.1 ch which added surround back channel to conventional DTS5.1 ch, and MPEG-2 AAC decoder.
It is equipped with a pure audio mode that does not pass through the tone adjustment circuit, turns off the power of the video circuit, and turns off the display to minimize noise sources as much as possible.
Equipped with an RS 232 terminal, it can be used for home integrated control systems such as the AMX system.
In addition, D4 terminal is mounted.
Equipped with a Powered Zone 2 function, you can enjoy different music sources in a separate room by using an amplifier of surround back channel.
The amplifier section has been newly designed and equipped with two 24-bit crystal DSP processors that are highly audio oriented, and a 192 kHz / 24-bit D / A converter for high-precision analog conversion.
It also features an audio / video separation board that protects signal purity by preventing noise contamination, and a large aluminum extruded heat sink that is separated for front & center and surround & surround back.
Various settings can be made by on-screen display while watching the display. There are two modes of menus : Basic menu (minimum required) and Advanced menu (for custom setting). It also has a listening mode memory function that automatically stores the listening mode for each input source type, an intelligent volume function that automatically adjusts the volume level for each medium to be constant, and a function that allows video signals input from the composite connector to be output from the S connector and vice versa.
Equipped with wide-range amplifier technology WRAT for DVD-Audio and SACD.
Equipped with a linear optimal gain volume circuit that improves S/N with optimal attenuation control.
Equipped with a non-scaling configuration function to prevent degradation of dynamic range and S/N during downmix.
Equipped with a speaker impedance setting function that can be used with 4 Ω speakers.
It is equipped with digital upsampling function which also supports analog source.
Equipped with an A/V sync function to compensate for the minute gap between video and audio that occurs when using a line doubler.
Onkyo's unique surround modes include Theta-Dimensional, Mono Movie, Enhanced7, Orchestra, Unplugged, Stuio Mix, TV Logic, and All Ch Stereo.
Equipped with power on volume function that can set the level when the power is ON.
Equipped with a maximum volume that can set the upper limit of the volume level.
The LFE level can be set according to the signal format.
There are two ways to display volume levels.
It is equipped with a function to display naming (select alphabet, etc.) of each input source.
Equipped with a 40-station preset FM/AM tuner.
It comes with a remote control equipped with learning & macro function that includes operation codes for AV equipment of major manufacturers in advance.
This remote control is also capable of self-illumination of buttons by the back light.
