Commentary

The RS series top-of-the-line pre-main amplifier is fully compatible with digital sources by adopting the super turbo system.

In the Super Turbo system, the power transformer, which generates harmful modulation noise components inside the amplifier, is separated from the amplifier purely electrically. This system extends the dynamic dynamic range by 20 dB.
In this system, when a low audio signal of 100 Hz or less is input to the amplifier, noise caused by ± imbalance in the power supply is prevented by using a delta turbo circuit, and noise caused by signal magnitude is prevented by using a turbo filter circuit.

Onkyo's unique super servo integral system is adopted.
This method completely eliminates intermodulation distortion that occurs when the electromotive force induced in the speaker flows into the output stage with a time lag due to external factors such as the sound pressure of other channels.
In addition, servo feedback is applied to the input side from both the + and - sides of the output side of the amplifier, and harmful noise components especially at very low frequencies are cut off, and noise components generated in the impedance accumulated by various resistance components in the ground line are suppressed.

In order to faithfully amplify complex music signal waveforms, a simple structure has been realized. It consists of a straight high-gain equalizer for MC and a two amplifier configuration with only the power section. The tone control circuit also uses direct tone.
Direct Tone does not use a tone amplifier and is composed only of passive elements that have little effect on sound quality. It enables high quality sound without tone degradation.

It is equipped with a soft circuit that controls the resolution and makes it easier to listen when connected to extremely low-grade program sources or devices such as extremely low-quality cartridges or speaker systems.

In order to prevent vibration from the outside, a super stabilizer is installed as a special structural reinforcement.

The power amplifier uses a linear switching method developed by Onkyo, which reduces crossover distortion by improving the linearity of the circuit operation without changing the bias. Although the operation of the circuit is class B, the sound quality is close to class A.
In additionTBy using a power transistor, the effect of switching distortion is suppressed.

Non-magnetic chassis is used for the main parts of the chassis to reduce the generation of harmful high-order harmonics.

The A-820RS uses a large complete 2-transformer system.
