Commentary

Auto reverse deck with unique Oatley berth mechanism.

Uses a newly developed unidirectional autoreverse mechanism.
In this mechanism, the cassette half itself is inverted quickly to perform the reverse operation. In the reverse operation, the cassette holder is slid out, the half is half-turn and set again. The operation is performed by a microprocessor-controlled motor drive for smooth and speedy operation.
Because of this unique structure, the tape running condition does not change even if it is reversed, and the completely identical running condition is realized on A side and B side, and recording / reproducing Oatley berth without azimuth shift is realized in principle.

Equipped with Auto-Rec standby mechanism.
Press the button once on the head of the A side and press it twice within 0.5 seconds on the head of the B side. All operation modes except FF/Rew are quickly switched to recording standby.

Equipped with double speed master fader control.
You can control fade-in and fade-out in four seconds by pressing Up or Down once, and in two seconds by holding down Up or Down.

Uses a direct operation mechanism.
By simply pressing the action buttons such as Play, FF, Rew, etc., the cassette half is automatically loaded and the indicated action is entered.
The cassette holder can be opened and closed manually even when the power is turned off, so there is no inconvenience like the eject / loading mechanism of the conventional motor drive.

The tape transport section uses a silent tape transport with Nakamichi's unique know-how developed with 1000 zx and DRAGON. It focuses on reducing the flutter that modulates the music signal to make the sound muddy, and improves the quality of listening.
The tape is controlled by a microprocessor-controlled motor drive.

The RP-2D read / write head is used for the read / write head.
This head uses a Sendust laminated core with a high saturation magnetic flux density of 10,000 gauss and a gap width of 1.2 microns. High characteristics are realized by ultra-high precision processing under computer control.

E-2D erase head is used for the erase head.
This head is a double gap type with ferrite core.

By concentrating on circuits and parts, we are pursuing low distortion and low noise for recording and playback amplifiers.
The recording equalizer circuit and the playback equalizer circuit are double-NF circuits, and the playback equalizer circuit is composed of discrete components enhance the quality.
In addition, more than 30 items are adjusted for each unit in the manufacturing process.

Each Dolby B-C type is equipped as a noise reduction system.

Equipped with LED peak level meter.
In addition, a 4-digit LED tape counter is mounted.

Equipped with a memory stop / play function.

Equipped with an MPX filter switch.

Equipped with timer rec / play function.

Equipped with Rec Mute.

Equipped with 120 μ s and 70 μ s equalizer switches.

Equipped with L/R independent recording level control.

Equipped with an output volume.

It has a headphone port.
