DR-10
Commentary

A 3-head cassette deck developed using Nakamichi's cassette deck technology.

The head section uses a discrete three head system in which the three recording / reproducing / erasing heads are completely independent from each other in structure.
The discrete 3-head method allows for extremely precise magnetic and mechanical azimuth adjustment, and also allows for a sufficient distance between the recording head and the reproducing head to prevent harmful magnetic interference.

The recording and reproducing heads use an inline recording head with a crystal-core, which is also used in the DRAGON.
In particular, the playback head has a narrow gap of 0.8 μ to achieve 21 kHz ultra-high-frequency playback, and the head coil uses top-grade oxygen-free copper (OFC) with no signal transmission loss to expand the range and dynamic range.

The mechanism uses a closed-loop dual capstan system to achieve optimal tape tension and stable tape travel.
In addition, the DR-10 achieves a more precise transport mechanism by adding a unique technique to this. First, the diameters of the capstan on the supply side and the capstan on the take-up side are slightly changed to avoid overlapping of the flutter, thereby suppressing harmful tape vibrations. In addition, the DR-10 is equipped with a tape pad lifter to control tape movement with only two capstan, thereby reducing modulation noise that makes sound muddy and contributing to a longer life of the head.

The audio circuit uses dual-mono construction to eliminate channel interference, and uses a DC amplifier configuration that eliminates coupling capacitors that cause distortion.
The recording amplifier circuit is a pure A-class configuration, and 12 adjustment circuits are installed in total to maximize the capacity of the tape. The reproducing amplifier circuit is composed of only discrete elements and is integrated with the reproducing head assembly on the transport side to eliminate transmission loss caused by cable routing.

Multi-regulated power supply system is adopted for the power supply section to eliminate power interference between sections.

Equipped with bias fine adjustment volume.

A microprocessor controlled motor drive silent mechanism is employed.

Equipped with a Dolby B/C type noise reduction system.

Equipped with headphone port and remote control port.
