Stereo cassette deck with 3-head configuration.

Frequency distributed double capstan is adopted.
The closed-loop double capstan system, in which the tape is held by two capstan systems, is extremely advantageous in terms of reducing modulation noise and flutter. However, in the 580 Series, the two capstan systems are made different, avoiding overlapping of flutter peaks and improving characteristics.

High-precision rotation is obtained by the PLL (Phase Locked Loop) method which detects motor rotation fluctuation and compares and controls the signal and phase of the reference signal oscillator.

By combining resin-molded parts with a chassis made mainly of aluminum alloy, which has a large vibration damping property, we have reduced flutter components by absorbing harmful microvibrations generated from motors and other rotating bodies.

By eliminating the coupling capacitor connected from the recording amplifier to the recording head and converting it into a direct connection and a DC connection, the distortion during recording is reduced and the phase around low frequency is prevented to improve the characteristics.

A double NF circuit is used to apply a negative feedback to the capacitors of the recording and playback equalizers. This circuit reduces distortion caused by the capacitors while maintaining high DC current stability.

For all operations such as PLAY, FF, REW, PAUSE and STOP, the soft touch button is pressed to input commands into the logic circuit, and the control motor operates the mechanism. Unlike solenoid systems, which require a large amount of current instantaneously, the power supply is stable and the tape can be contacted slowly without damaging the tape. In addition, the tape can run stably and the operation is extremely quiet.

It shuts off at a speed of 0.4 seconds to prevent troubles such as tape winding.
