Commentary

A speaker system that seeks a new sound by completely changing the concept of the cabinet.

A 30 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm uses a lightweight aramid cross cone that reduces weight by eliminating resin (resin component). By improving the response, the thickness of the middle and low range sound is added.

The mid-range has a 13 cm cone type mid-range.
Similar to the woofer, this unit also uses a lightweight aramid cross cone, and the back chamber is made of Yonematsu with a beautiful sound to improve the S/N feeling.

A 3 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
Polyimide cone is used for the diaphragm.

The enclosure uses a keyed contact structure.
In this method, the side plate and the front baffle are firmly joined together to increase the rigidity of the front baffle. This makes the sound rise faster, and the vibration transmitted to the rear is used to make the sound of the back baffle made of Yonematsu plywood with beautiful vibration damping characteristics. This makes the music sound more lively and clearer.

The front baffle of the DS 900 ex was available in two colors : black wood (DS 900 ex) and brown wood (DS 900 ex-M).

There was a special speaker stand DK-900EX sold separately.
This stand is made of solid all-wood.
