Commentary

This is a speaker system that improves the quality of all bands with a focus on the expressive power of the middle band.

A 22 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The R. I. hybrid cone is used for the diaphragm. It is composed of olefin resin mixed with high-rigidity carbon fiber and aramid fiber with excellent internal loss, and is radially injection-molded. By this structure, high-rigidity and internal loss are fused at a high dimension, and rise and fall characteristics are improved. A curved shape is used to extend the playback limit in the high-frequency direction.

A 3-cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
For the first time in its class, the diaphragm is equipped with boron, which has high specific elastic modulus, high durability, weather resistance, and excellent characteristics for suppressing natural sound. In addition, in order to maximize the characteristics of this diaphragm, Diatone's unique unit structure, D. U. D method, is adopted. By integrating the diaphragm and voice coil, the driving force generated is directly transmitted to the diaphragm.
The DS-55XL has a wider diameter than the conventional Boron tweeter in order to increase the medium range reproduction capability, and a 3 cm dome tweeter has been realized by adopting a special three layer tangential edge structure and an optimum design of frame width.
The frame structure employs a hybrid D. M., which simplifies the conventional frame structure and mounts the magnetic circuit directly in the enclosure. Furthermore, the entire plate is covered with resin molding to provide high rigidity and moderate vibration control.

Uses a magnet shield system with anti-magnetic magnets mounted on the magnetic circuit.

The enclosure uses a rear bass reflex system.
In addition to the sound absorbing material, a woofer is set at the optimum position to suppress the standing wave generated inside the enclosure, and at the same time, the resonance of the enclosure is reduced by making the enclosure a strong distributed resonance type.

There were two variations of external finish, walnut finish and peer oak finish.

The speaker stand and acoustic bass are sold separately, so it can be installed in a wide range of settings.
