DS-33ds-33D
Commentary

A bookshelf type speaker system with a 2-way D. U. D structure for the first time.

A 25 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses a high-density molded cone diaphragm with a thicker periphery and a new corrugation shape, and a thick aluminum die-cast frame to eliminate resonance.

A 5 cm semi-dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This tweeter uses D. U. D. (DIATONE Unified Diaphargm). By molding the outer periphery of the diaphragm into a cylindrical shape and integrating it with the voice coil bobbin, rigidity reduction due to adhesion is suppressed, and high-resonance frequencies are expelled out of the audible band. In addition, response to input signals is greatly improved due to low attenuation in the high-frequency range. In addition, by transmitting heat from the voice coil directly to the diaphragm, resistance to input is improved by preventing increase in conductor resistance of the voice coil due to temperature rise.

The tweeter used in the DS-33D is designed for 2-way use with a large back cavity to lower the fo. In addition, the damper is also improved. This realizes playback sound with excellent transient characteristics and improves the quality especially in the mid - and high-frequency range.
In addition, aluminum die-cast frame with sufficient thickness and strong structure is used for the frame to suppress natural vibration of the frame itself.

OFC (oxygen-free copper wire) with low DC resistance is used for the coil and wiring material of the network section, and DC resistance between elements due to wiring is reduced by adopting lug terminal board.

It is equipped with 3-position switching type level control for high frequency.

The unit layout of the front baffle is symmetrical with a tweeter inside to improve the directivity of the high-frequency range. In addition, an elbow structure pipe is adopted for the bass reflex duct to reduce radiation in the mid-frequency range.
The enclosure is designed using Diatone's unique vibration analysis technology, and has a highly rigid distributed resonance structure. The joint structure uses strong encasing and hozo joints that mesh plates together. In addition, reinforcing materials are placed in appropriate places to disperse resonance modes and prevent box ringing.
