This driver unit uses an excitation type.
In a general speaker unit, it is ideal that the diaphragm moves in the same way as the input signal current. However, because the diaphragm and voice coil are heavy, it does not move immediately when an input is applied, and even when the current stops, it does not stop due to inertia and produces a sound different from the original sound.
In order to eliminate this drawback, the excitation type unit creates a particularly strong magnetic field to make the start speed fast, and the voice coil generates a strong back electromotive force to apply complete self-braking (electric brake).
The D51EX uses silicon steel with a magneto-resistance of 1 / several thousand of ferrite magnets to produce a strong magnetic force and a back electromotive force to provide complete self-braking.
