Commentary

This is a universal player that inherits the concept of DV9500 and supports I. LINK and HDMI ver1.1.

Equipped with HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), it realizes full digital transmission without degradation of image quality due to AD/DA conversion of video signal. This HDMI interface can transmit video signal with 10 bit processing as it is. Also, by adopting HDMI Version1.1, it can transmit not only video signal but also DTS, Dolby digital, multi-channel recorded DVD audio.

Equipped with a 10-bit scaler IC developed in cooperation with Anchor Bay Technology Co., Ltd., it is possible to upconvert the video signal via the HDMI terminal to 720P, 1080i or Pure HD (1080P) and output it.
The DV9600 also uses a 10-bit advanced progressive circuit for the I/P converter, which realizes full 10-bit video processing and transmission in all stages, in addition to transmission via the HDMI interface.

Equipped with an HDMI resolution switch on the front panel, you can easily change the resolution of the video signal output from the HDMI terminal. You can switch the output resolution every time you press the button while HDMI is on. In addition, you can turn the HDMI output on / off with a long press of over 3 seconds.

The 216 MHz video encoder achieves 8 x and 4 x oversampling for interlaced and progressive video, respectively, compared to 13.5 MHz standard resolution video. This enables high-precision D/A conversion, resulting in more natural contour reproduction. In addition, by applying 14-bit processing, the color reproducibility and luminance reproducibility of 4096 gradation for 12-bit processing have been expanded to 16384 gradation with 4 times accuracy.
In addition, Analog Devices' Noise Shaped Video (NSV) technology shifts video noise components to unwanted bands and realizes high-precision images.

The newly developed Chroma Error Compensation greatly eliminates the chroma error that occurs near the vertical edge of the color difference signal. In addition to DNR and CNR, which reduce noise in luminance and color signals, Block Noise Reduction (BNR), which reduces block-like noise characteristic of MPEG compression, and Mosquito Noise Reduction, which reduces flicker that occurs in the outline of the image, can be used for all types of discs.

Equipped with an I. LINK (IEEE1394) connector, it enables digital transmission of not only linear PCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS, but also DVD audio and SACD multi-channel audio.
When used in combination with the AV Amp SR9600, the Jitter Free Transfer System (JFTS), which takes advantage of I. LINK's bi-directional nature, operates, enabling higher sound quality playback. This adjusts the data read speed of the DV9600 according to the amount of data stored in the memory buffer of the SR9600. This eliminates the effect of jitters and realizes high-quality transmission.

The audio circuit board uses 6-channel equal-quality HDAM. This circuit board is independent of other circuits and is completely shielded from the influence of video circuits and other circuits.
In addition, the circuit board and components are arranged in an ideal manner, and a 0 impedance copper plate, which provides a stable signal ground, is employed to improve sound quality.
The output terminal uses the RCA pin jack of the cutting type used in the high-grade machine.
