Commentary

A universal player developed with cutting-edge image technology and Marantz's audio technology.

It is equipped with HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) which is an interface for digital audio-visual equipment. The HDMI connector can simultaneously transmit uncompressed digital video and digital audio signals such as Dolby Digital, DTS and Linear PCM.
In combination with digital video equipment such as projectors equipped with this connector, full digital transmission and full digital processes are possible from the entrance to the exit.

The I/P conversion and scaling part of the video processing circuit is equipped with a 10-bit digital processing circuit. By installing the latest high-precision 10-bit scaler, it is possible to upconvert 480P video signals to higher-definition 720P or 1080i signals via the HDMI terminal and output them.
In progressive processing, 10-bit digital processing enables four times higher precision than general 8-bit processing. In addition, a newly developed algorithm reduces shaggy (stepped noise on diagonal lines) and produces sharp images.
In addition, since the image adjustment is performed by the I/P conversion section, the image quality can be adjusted for digital output as well as analog output.

The video encoder is equipped with a 216 MHz / 14-bit video encoder that oversamples interlaced signals by 16 times and progressive signals by 8 times, enabling high-precision D/A conversion and more natural contour reproduction.
In addition, the 14-bit model has improved color reproducibility and luminance tone reproducibility compared to the 12-bit model. In addition, the Noise Shaped Video (NSV) technology shifts video noise components to unwanted bands, effectively removes noise with an analog filter, and suppresses signal degradation and aliasing noise, thereby improving the total video S/N ratio.

Equipped with a video adjustment function, it is possible to perform real image quality adjustment such as DNR/CNR / detail / brightness / gamma / chroma delay which can be finely adjusted according to the projector and display.

High-quality output circuits such as high-bandwidth video amplifiers and discrete filters are used.

All 6-ch equal-quality audio output boards equipped with HDAM are mounted.
In order to block the influence of the video circuit, it is separated from the video board and the whole back of the board is shielded. In addition, attention is paid to the wiring of the board and the arrangement of parts to improve the sound quality.

The DAC is equipped with a total of three DAC CS4398 s made by Cirrus Logic, one each for front L/Rch, surround L/Rch, center ch & subwoofer, and one for each.
There is also a separate DAC for headphones.

Uses a newly developed DVD/Super Audio CD dedicated module.
This mechanism is based on the one developed in SA8400, and the module with less noise radiation is realized by using one circuit board and four layers of glass epoxy board.
In addition, the tray has a black paint that has an anti-vibration effect and is less affected by diffused laser reflection.

In addition to the conventional double-layered chassis, the chassis strength of the main chassis top cover has been increased.

Equipped with a sound mode function, you can directly select the playback area of Super Audio CD with the remote control, which had to be switched by showing the menu screen on the display in the previous model.
