Commentary
A CD player that inherits the form of the CD-19 and improves sound quality through extensive refinement.
The mechanism section inherits the technology used in the CD-17Da. It uses VAM1201, a three beam linear tracking mechanism made by Philips, and CD7 is used for the servo / decoder IC.
CD-R/RW playback is supported.
The D/A converter section uses PCM1716 manufactured by Bar Brown, which is also used in the MD-19, in a differential configuration with independent left and right sides.
The audio circuit uses Marantz's original high-speed voltage amplification module HDAM.
HDAM's high shield structure eliminates the influence of heat, vibration, and electromagnetic waves, and while achieving stable operation, it achieves sound quality that cannot be achieved with ordinary operational amplifiers.
An EI-type power transformer with OFC (oxygen-free copper) winding is used for the power supply section.
The chassis structure is designed to ensure rigidity by adding a 1.6 mm thick steel bottom cover under the main chassis.
The power cord uses an inlet type OFC cord.
Equipped with a digital filter switching function, the curve of the digital filter can be switched by pressing the front panel buttons.
Supports CDTEXT display.
It is equipped with two digital outputs which are coaxial with the optical system.
