Commentary
Dolby Surround Processor with matrix and spatial surround functions in addition to Dolby Surround.
It is equipped with Dolby Surround, which was developed to accurately restore the Dolby stereo signal. By reproducing the encoded anti-phase signal simultaneously with the signal of the main 2 channel, the home theater can be realized with the power of the theater sound.
The reverse phase signal, which exhibits surround effect, is reproduced as surround signal by matrix circuit → delay circuit → 7 khz low-pass filter → Dolby B Type NR system.
Equipped with a calibration control function that can be fine-tuned according to the source level, the indicator lights up at the optimum calibration amount.
Since the delay controller is installed independently, the effective delay time can be set according to the source.
It offers both matrix and spatial surround sound, and usually supports stereo and mono sources as well.
Matrix Surround allows you to surround a stereo source that does not use the Dolby stereo method, while Spatial Round allows you to enjoy a pseudo-stereo version of a mono source.
The matrix and spatial surround effects can be adjusted with the effect controller, and the MIN position produces stereo and monaural playback, respectively.
It is equipped with a special power amplifier for driving surround speakers, and the volume setting can be freely controlled by electronic volume.
Equipped with a layout selector to choose the best speaker layout.
Layout selector 1 allows you to place three front speakers and one rear speaker, while layout selector 2 allows you to place two front speakers and two rear speakers.
It is equipped with a muting switch that reduces the volume of front and rear speakers with one touch.
It is compatible with Marantz's own easy operation system "Marantz Bus System". You can remotely control the volume control and muting of surround speakers by using it together with the separately sold audio timer AT333AV (¥ 20,000) and remote control unit RMC-15 (¥ 8,000).
