Commentary
Based on the PM-80a, this pre-main amplifier aims at a higher level by adding the SE concept of Maker's tune-up philosophy.
The power supply section uses a toroidal transformer to minimize vibration and leakage flux, minimizing electrical coloring of music signals. The transformer case is filled with a mixture of resin and inorganic materials to improve vibration isolation and heat radiation.
The chassis is copper-plated to reduce the high-frequency effects by keeping the high-frequency impedance lower than internal wiring.
The top plate is 3 times thicker than normal to suppress the vibration of the internal electronic parts.
In addition, the structure is resistant to internal and external vibrations by die-cast side panels that firmly fix both sides.
Uses 4-row active volume to prevent S/N degradation during actual use.
It is also designed to achieve higher quality sound, such as the elimination of tone control and the use of solid aluminum knob to ensure high stability.
