PM-11S1
Commentary

A pre-main amplifier developed over 2 years as an integrated amplifier inheriting the concept of a separate amplifier.

This item uses a new premium design that is different from the previous Marantz design.
This design is based on the basic concept of expression by light which is not limited only by shape and arrangement, and uses the front panel of solid aluminum 3 piece construction and the aluminum side panel which firmly supports the inside.
A low-noise LCD is used for the display, and the front panel controls are illuminated in blue.

By reducing the impedance of the signal line with the linear control volume and HDAM SA2, and by reviewing the internal layout, channel separation at high frequencies has been improved by more than 10 dB.
This improves not only channel separation between the left and right channels, but also channel separation between different amplifier stages.

The power supply section and power block section are designed to be extremely low impedance. The instantaneous current supply capability has been improved by more than two times by using a substrate with a foil thickness of 70 microns, OFC extra-thick wiring material for the high-current section, high-speed power transistors and Schottky barrier diodes, and minimizing by reviewing the internal layout.

It is equipped with HDAM SA2 which is an evolution of HDAM SA installed in SC-7S1/MA-9S1.
The HDAM SA2 is a key module for voltage / current conversion of a current feedback amplifier. It is also suitable as a high-speed buffer amplifier. It is also a compact module because of the need to reduce the circuit area for high channel separation.
The PM-11S1 is equipped with a current feedback phono amplifier, balance buffer amplifier, line buffer amplifier, volume amplifier, voltage amplifier, and power buffer amplifier that are composed of many HDAM SA2s.

It follows the design concept of the SC-7S1 and is equipped with a dedicated input amplifier for all inputs.
It is equipped with a current feedback type balance buffer amplifier using HDAM SA2 for the balance input, and is compatible with devices with a balance output.
All line input terminals are equipped with line buffers using dedicated HDAM SA2 to prevent interference between each input source.

The linear control volume developed in the SC-7S1 is used for the volume.
This volume can be adjusted linearly between 0 and -100dB with an accuracy of ± 0.5 dB.

The phono equalizer amplifier is equipped with a current feedback circuit for the first time as a Marantz.
Both MM and MC cartridges are supported.

The power amplifier section follows the design concept of the MA-9S1, and consists of two amplifiers of 11 dB voltage amplifier (voltage amplifier circuit) and 12.5 dB power buffer amplifier (power amplifier circuit).
This prevents the back electromotive force from a speaker with a strong magnetic circuit from being fed back to the voltage amplification stage.

A choke input power supply is used for the power supply for the input amplifier and the preamplifier, which handle small signals.
This power supply consists of a high-capacity capacitor (15,000 μ Fx2) combined with a Marantz original hybrid transformer with a choke coil set in the ring core, and completely eliminates harmonic noise generated in the rectifier circuit and high-frequency noise from the outside.

The power supply section employs a large super-ring toroidal transformer with a shield case with a built-in choke coil, a low-foil magnification low-impedance capacitor (18,000 μ Fx2), and a Schottky barrier diode to support a power buffer with an instantaneous current supply capacity of approximately 50A.

Equipped with F. C. B. S (Floating Control Bus System).
This function synchronizes up to four PM-11S1s through high-speed bi-directional communication. It supports complete bi-amplifier and multi-channel.

System remote control is included.
