Commentary
A reference series of floor-type speaker systems developed by computer analysis.
The Model 105/2 is designed not only using computer analysis, but also by introducing computer management to the production line, the quality of each part is stabilized and homogenized.
In addition, all of the prototype and produced 105.2 were compared and tested by actual measurement. Only products within ± 1 dB of the frequency characteristics, output level, input sensitivity, etc. of the data of the prototype and the product passed the inspection and were shipped after pair matching.
In use, the Model 105/2 has an optimal listening range called the listening window.
The listening window range is 40 ° left / right and 10 ° up / down. The middle / high range unit is designed to be able to freely change the angle within ± 30 ° left / right and ± 7 ° up / down so that the listening position is within the area.
The low range is equipped with a cone-type woofer B300 with a diaphragm, and the middle range is equipped with a cone-type mid-range B110 with a diaphragm.
A dome-shaped tweeter T52 is installed in the high range.
The basic model name of the unit used is the same, but the type seems to differ depending on the time of manufacture.
The crossover was also different.
Equipped with an electronic protection circuit that automatically protects the speakers in the event of accidental over-input.
This circuit is an electronic automatic protection circuit called S-Stop. It protects the system from damage by automatically controlling the input for a certain period of time in case of excessive input or abnormal temperature rise of the voice coil.
It also has a peak level indicator that shows the over-output of the amplifier.
The enclosure is divided into two parts : the low-frequency unit is mounted in a closed enclosure, and the mid-range unit is mounted in a small enclosure called a fine-tuneable head assembly.
The overall configuration is a linear phase configuration and is designed to provide optimum stereo presence at the listener position by fine-tuning the mid - and high-range head assembly.
There is a wide range of cosmetic finishes, with four choices for bottom enclosure finish : walnut, cheek, rosewood, and black ash.
Equipped with casters.
There was a full grill which can cover up to the head assembly as an option sold separately.
