Commentary
A floor-type 2-way speaker system equipped with a differentiated directivity horn that realizes a uniform sound pressure level in the listening area.
ME150HS which is a 38 cm cone type woofer is mounted in the low range.
The diaphragm uses fiber composite cone with Aqua Plus coating.
A horn type unit that combines driver unit 275 nd and horn H 2600 1 is installed in the high range.
Using JBL's horn design technology and state-of-the-art acoustic analysis technology, the horn is an original 3-D curved horn called the "Differentiated directivity Horn." The sound pressure level is uniform over a wide listening area by concentrating the middle and high frequencies, which tend to be irregularly reflected on walls, within the directional angle of the horn.
The driver 275 nd is a one inch throat compression driver with a titanium diaphragm, and uses a neodymium magnet in the magnetic circuit.
The low-frequency and high-frequency networks are installed independently.
The high-frequency network employs a charge-coupled method that adds a DC bias. By operating the condenser in class A operation, harmful 0 cross distortion is eliminated, and sound resolution and transient characteristics are dramatically improved.
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
A unique wedge-shaped enclosure is used to prevent the occurrence of internal standing waves by narrowing down the back of the enclosure in the cuneate direction along the horn angle.
The enclosure is made of MDF material with robust acoustic properties, and is braced with bracing and fine-tuned to eliminate color and provide tight low-frequency playback.
The top panel is finished with black high-gloss lacquer finish and the rest is finished with bar-wood-grain decorative panel.
Taking advantage of the independent network configuration of the low and high frequencies, two sets of gold-plated speaker input terminals are installed.
By removing the gold-plated bus bar, it is possible to use a bi-wired connection with two pairs of speaker cables or a bi-amplifier drive with two pairs of amplifiers.
