JBL S2600
¥ 320,000 (1 unit, released in 1994)
Commentary
A floor-type speaker system developed based on the design concept of the Everest DD55000.
The low range is equipped with ME120HS which is a 30 cm cone type woofer.
This unit uses a Phi Bagras composite cone with Aqua + damping and a large magnetic circuit.
A horn type tweeter combining a newly developed horn H2600 and a professional driver 2426H is installed in the high range.
The H2600 is a newly developed horn directly related to the DD55000. It is designed into a horn shape with a unique 3-D curved surface by making full use of JBL's unique horn design technology and the latest acoustic analysis technology that we have developed for professional concert speakers. This greatly disperses mid - and high-frequency sounds that would otherwise be limited to a narrow range with ordinary speakers, and realizes uniform sound pressure and accurate sound image localization over a wide service area.
The enclosure features a unique wedge-shaped design that takes full advantage of horn characteristics and eliminates the acoustic effects of internal standing waves to ensure adequate baffle area and optimum internal volume.
Equipped with a connection terminal for biwiring.
The speaker terminals are located on the side, making it easier to wire and replace the speaker cables.
