Commentary
A speaker system for the concert series.
The 4872 is a 4870 speaker family system and is bi-amp-driven.
The 4870 family was developed for SR and music playback that require Hi-Fi sound. The 4870 family comes in four variations, 4870, 4871, 4872 and 4873, each with a different unit configuration.
Two 38 cm cone type woofer 2225H are installed in the low range.
In the high range, a flat biradial horn 2385A and a driver unit 2445J using a pure titanium 4-inch diaphragm are mounted.
The enclosure is made of high-density birch-laminated plywood with excellent strength. The surface is treated with glass-fiber reinforced plastic for excellent durability. The side of the enclosure is cut into a 15 ° tapered shape, and by placing multiple tubes in a fan-like configuration, an extremely wide service area can be obtained.
It is equipped with 14 embedded metal fittings for flying.
The Concert Series included a wide range of specialized options, including a carrying load case and various speaker mounting brackets.
