Commentary
A speaker system for the concert series.
The 4871 is a system of the 4870 speaker family, and it is a tri-amp drive configuration with a tweeter added to the basic unit configuration of the 4870.
The 4870 family was developed for SR and music playback that require Hi-Fi sound. The 4870 family comes in four variations, 4870, 4871, 4872 and 4873, each with a different unit configuration.
Two 38 cm cone type woofer 2225H are mounted in the low range, and the driver unit 2445J using flat biradial horn 2380A and pure titanium 4-inch diaphragm is mounted in the middle range.
Two horn type tweeters 2404H are installed in parallel in the high frequency range.
The enclosure is made of high-density birch-laminated plywood with excellent strength. The surface is treated with glass-fiber reinforced plastic for excellent durability. The side of the enclosure is cut into a 15 ° tapered shape, and by placing multiple tubes in a fan-like configuration, an extremely wide service area can be obtained.
It is equipped with 14 embedded metal fittings for flying.
The Concert Series included a wide range of specialized options, including a carrying load case and various speaker mounting brackets.
