This player system is designed to reduce costs by streamlining while maintaining performance in accordance with 1229.

The tone arm uses a light metal pipe with an effective length of 204 mm.

The needle pressure adjustment is a direct-reading dial type that can be adjusted from 0 to 5.5g with a direct reading error of ± 0.1g.

It comes with 3 types of spindles for single play, multi-play and doughnut board.
The spindle for single play is designed to rotate together with the turntable, so that there is no friction resistance with the record center hole and rotation unevenness does not occur.

The turntable is made of non-magnetic die cast with a diameter of 27 cm and has dynamic balance adjustment.

The drive motor uses a high-torque synchronous type.
Pitch adjustment of approximately 6% is possible by pitch control.

Equipped with vertical angle adjustment mechanism.
The vertical angle of the tip of the cartridge needle differs depending on the thickness of the record in single-play and multi-play. On the 1218, the mode selector built into the cartridge holder of the head shell allows you to maintain a vertical angle of 15 ° at all times in single-play and at the third record in multi-play.

It is equipped with a cue control with a silicon dump cylinder as an arm elevation mechanism.

There were cabinets for players, head shells, and spindles for doughnuts sold separately.
