Commentary
An FM/AM tuner equipped with 16 station preset functions designed with the theme of quality and usability as well as focusing on basic performance.
It employs a digital synthesizer system that allows easy channel selection and accurate tuning accuracy.
16 stations are covered by the use of 8 tuning keys and shift keys.
The "4-way tuning mechanism" has been adopted for the memory mechanism. It enables one touch random preset tuning that directly calls the desired station from among the 16 stored stations, automatic tuning that automatically finds radio waves and tunes, manual tuning that receives broadcasting stations with weak radio waves, and last channel memory tuning that automatically selects the last station received.
For accurate tuning, the PLL comparison frequency is set to 25 kHz, which is out of the audible band. In addition, a static control display is adopted to eliminate beat and noise in the audio band.
The front end section is designed with analog varactor diodes equivalent to 3 series and J-FET.
A ceramic filter with constant amplitude and constant delay characteristics is used for the IF stage.
It is equipped with MPX-NR which automatically reduces noise when receiving FM stereo with weak signal.
This function can be turned ON/OFF.
The AM section employs a two stage 3-terminal high-selectivity ceramic filter, an LC filter, and a low-impedance loop antenna that is resistant to fluorescent light noise.
It has a memory backup function of about 30 days.
