Commentary
By further developing the know-how accumulated in the Super boy SC-101, this speaker system is designed to maximize the flexibility of usability such as layout - and position-free.
A 16 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
It is a joint development unit of DENON and Peerless Co. (Denmark). It uses the same flat damper as the woofer of SC-304. In addition, it uses Scandinavian pulp for the material of the corn paper and the latest paper making technology is put into it to make a light and tough diaphragm.
In addition, it is composed of a large magnet equivalent to a 25 cm class woofer and heat-resistant voice coil, which reduces the burden on the tweeter and improves sound pressure and input resistance.
A 3.2 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
The newly developed diaphragm suppresses natural vibration and achieves smooth high-frequency characteristics.
The enclosure uses a rigid particle board, especially the front baffle, which is 18 mm thick.
The unit is fixed using a sandwich support system. The tweeter is supported from both sides of the frame by an aluminum plate and a sealing sheet. The woofer is firmly mounted by an aluminum die-cast ring that covers the entire frame.
There were SC-11 of pure maple wood-grain finish and SC-11s of silver metallic cabinet.
