Commentary

Portable DAT with 4-hour continuous playback.

It is equipped with an electronic device even for long time (LP), and can record and play back up to 4 hours without changing tapes.
It supports all 2-channel DAT format modes, and allows digital recording and playback of any source, including DAT, CD, A/B mode satellite broadcasting and independent PCM audio broadcasting.

The digital input terminal is equipped with a Tosrlink type optical digital input terminal and a mini-type coaxial digital input / output terminal.

It is equipped with a 44.1 kHz master recording function, and the sampling frequency at analog input can be recorded in the 44.1 kHz 16-bit linear mode, which is the same as CD. When a sound source recorded in this mode is edited into a CD-R, it does not need to pass through a sampling converter or a D/A-A/D converter, so that sound quality degradation can be prevented.

It is compatible with AA alkaline dry batteries, and a total of 4 types of power source can be used : Ni-Cd rechargeable battery, AC power source, car battery.

It has a built-in A/D converter and uses a fourth order Σ Δ type A/D converter with a 64 times oversampling digital filter for the A/D converter.

The D/A converter uses an 18-bit Advanced Interpolative D/A converter with an 8-times oversampling digital filter.

Equipped with a TOC recording display function, recorded data such as total number of songs, total time, song number and playing time can be recorded at the beginning of tape winding, and it can be displayed on the liquid crystal display during playback or used for selecting songs.

By using a compact mechanism with a 20 φ head drum and a high-density mounting board, the weight of the A/D converter and battery mounted state is 590g.

Equipped with a liquid crystal display with EL backlight.

It is equipped with a step attenuation function for the first time in portable DAT capable of fading digital recording.

It supports SCMS and allows digital copying directly from CD or DAT only for the first recording to tape.
However, you cannot record (digitally copy) a tape that you have recorded digitally.

Comes with an AC adapter and alkaline battery pack.

There was an option to sell separately such as wired remote control.
