Commentary
This is an inclined cassette deck designed with many unique mechanisms.
A newly developed ATR (Accurate Tape Running) mechanism is adopted to realize ideal tape running and head touch.
This mechanism consists of a holding mechanism for fixing the cassette and a self-aligning hub shaft. The cassette is held securely by a height regulating pin and a cassette holding spring at the upper and lower positions of the tape guide roller part of the cassette half. This eliminates the floating and rattling of the cassette that often occurs with conventional cassette decks. Moreover, the right angle between the capstan shaft and the tape running direction is obtained correctly.
By combining the fine adjustment mechanism of the head and pinch roller, stable tape travel and ideal head touch are realized.
A cassette deck has its own longitudinal vibration several times per reel rotation. This vibration is caused by improper meshing between the cassette hub and the hub shaft of the deck. It can cause noise nigori. The DR-370 eliminates the periodic longitudinal vibration of the tape by driving the self-aligning hub and improving the accuracy of parts, thereby eliminating the noise turbidity.
The ATR mechanism is mounted on a rigid frame.
In addition, superior performances have been achieved by the adoption of a high-precision flat belt and an ultra-precision capstan shaft, and a high-performance hysteresis synchronous motor.
Equipped with a 3-stage equalizer function and a continuously variable bias adjustment function, recording and playback utilizing the characteristics of the tape are possible.
The panel layout uses a 4-1 button system with the minimum number of buttons in one place.
The 4-1-button system has a layout with left and right recording and playback buttons, center fast-forward and rewind buttons, and upper bar-type stop buttons. This improves usability and reduces operational errors.
Equipped with a one touch eject system, the cassette can be ejected with one touch from any mode without a stop button. When the eject button is pressed, the mechanism automatically stops, the cassette cover opens and the tape is ejected by an oil dump mechanism.
The cassette tape is tilted 12 degrees from the vertical so that the entire surface of the cassette tape can be seen easily and the performance is improved by the self-weight effect. In addition, the tape is easily seen by using a large semi-transparent acrylic cover so that you can write notes on the cassette label even during recording or playback.
Equipped with a full-scale peak meter.
This meter uses a backlight type, and letters and symbols are easy to read.
The Dolby System is installed as a noise reduction system.
The DR-370 uses an integrated circuit to improve reliability.
Equipped with timer recording mechanism.
Equipped with a memory rewind mechanism.
It is equipped with a mechanical pause mechanism that is ideal for cutting CM and unnecessary announcements during recording.
