DENON DP-1200
¥ 49,800 (released in 1977)
Commentary
A record player equipped with an auto lift mechanism for ease of use without compromising the basic performance of a direct drive player.
A direct drive system is adopted as the drive system.
Since there are no rotational flutter mechanisms such as belts and idlers, there is no wow transmission or rumble caused by them, and there is no part that causes abrasion or deformation, so initial performances can be maintained for a long time.
DENON's proprietary high-precision magnetic recording detection method is used to detect rotational speed.
DENON's unique method records 1,000 high-precision pulse signals on a magnetic material coated inside the turntable rim and detects them with a magnetic head to control the rotational speed. Thus, even if load conditions such as needle pressure or arm position change, or even if external conditions such as power supply voltage, frequency fluctuation, or humidity change, rotational speed hardly changes.
An AC servo motor is used as the drive motor.
In principle, AC motors rotate more smoothly than DC motors, and are superior in terms of rumble and wow flutter.
Equipped with an auto lift mechanism with non-contact end detection.
The DP 1200 uses a contactless detection method that optically detects the sound of the record and the speed at which the tone arm moves when moving from the groove to the lead-out, so that there is no need to worry about imposing a load on the tone arm.
The lift mechanism of the arm works smoothly by oil dump.
After the auto lift, the power of the player is turned off and the operation lever is also linked and returns to the off position.
Equipped with a standby switch, the turntable can be started / stopped, making it easy to start the beginning of a record and to adjust the needle pressure of the cartridge.
Equipped with arm height adjustment mechanism.
Cabinet with measures against howling is adopted.
The cartridge is equipped with DL-8A, MM type cartridge.
