Commentary

This is a line-level amplifier of the solid state series developed by pursuing the possibilities of solid state elements with Counterpoint's unique hybrid technology.

The Solid-M8 uses a circuit design that is as simple and straight as possible in order to achieve a constant level signal without losing the density or purity of the source signal and send it to the power amplifier.

The amplifier circuit does not incorporate an IC into the signal path, and all stages including the constant-current differential FET input stage are configured discretely.
In addition, in order to maintain a quick transient and reproduce the source signal in a pure manner, we aim to create sound with an emphasis on dynamic characteristics by applying a small local NFB at the input stage and current mirror load differential amplifier stage without using an overall NFB, and applying a unique tuning.

By carefully selecting the parts to be used, optimizing the individual constants and repeatedly refining the circuit, we have succeeded in achieving a wide range of 400 kHz, which reduces the phase shift between the low and high frequencies and realizes excellent linearity.

The power supply section uses a transformer manufactured by Counter Point. The left and right channels are independent, and each stage is separately regulated to prevent mutual interference.

Non-NFB designs tend to play with the volume of the amplifier reduced because of the higher gain.
The Solid-M8 has three selectable gain settings : 12 dB, 18 dB, and 24 dB. This allows the Solid-M8 to be set up according to the output level of the device or the efficiency of the speaker.

10 mm thick solid aluminum is used for the front panel.
This panel is precisely processed by the counter point metal shop, and protects the internal circuit from unnecessary vibration and ensures temperature stability.

Line level input Route 6 and tape deck input / output 2 input systems are mounted.
In addition, two main outputs can be connected by two power amplifiers.
