Commentary
This is a high-power stereo power amplifier of the solid state series developed by Counterpoint's unique hybrid technology to realize the potential of solid state elements.
It has a current supply capacity of up to 170A.
It adopts dual mono construction in which all parts after the secondary side of the power transformer are left and right independent.
The left and right channels are independently regulated and each voltage buffer keeps the source impedance low for isolation from the main power supply.
The circuit configuration is composed of a constant-current cascode-connected differential FET at the input stage, a differential transistor at the subsequent voltage amplification stage, and a high-bias class AB configuration using bipolar transistor at the output stage.
By maintaining a high degree of completion of the circuit design, stable operation is realized with a small NFB.
The front panel uses thick solid aluminum finished by our own metal shop.
