Commentary
A bookshelf-type speaker system developed as the culmination of the Celestion Steam Locomotive Project.
The SL projects were announced in the order of SL-6 which adopted the metal dome tweeter, SL-6S which adopted the honeycomb cabinet, SL-6S which adopted the aluminum metal tweeter, and SL-6S which adopted the SL-6S which adopted the aluminum metal tweeter. After that, SL-700 which installed all the technologies was announced. 600
A 15 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm of this unit uses a perfect one piece cone without a dust cap. The cone is made of special chemical materials based on Celestion's unique know-how. In addition, the double-suspension system expands the low-frequency response, and the performance of the woofer is improved by completely cutting off the conical traveling wave at the edge.
A 3.5 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit has a self-cleaning structure with a voice coil wound directly on a 3.5 cm aluminum dome to expand the high-frequency characteristics and improve the input-resistant characteristics.
A laminated core of linear crystal copper wire wound on a square bobbin is used for the choke coil in the network section, and a low-loss Solen condenser made in France is used for the condenser.
A newly designed air ROM aluminum honeycomb cabinet is used for the enclosure.
The enclosure uses vertical 8-shaped honeycomb braces to stiffen the side walls without increasing weight, thereby eliminating cabinet resonance and knock-on effects.
The crossover board, which is usually mounted on the back panel of the enclosure, is also floating mounted to prevent resonance.
The speaker jacks are compatible with bi-wiring or bi-amplifier.
Comes with a speaker stand.
This stand is made of all-aluminum. The center pole is made of a special cross-section drawn material to prevent resonance, and the pole is filled with metal particles and pebbles.
The base and top plate are made of strong aluminum cast, and the coupling with SL700 is supported by 3 points with a co-coupling Nicarpine to improve the low range.
The stand can be firmly fixed to the floor with 4 spikes.
There was a special speaker grill for SL700 as an option sold separately.
