Commentary
A speaker system developed as a successor to the SL-6S.
A 15 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The cone is made of special scientific materials based on Celestion's unique know-how. The cone edge is tightly connected to the cone by molecular bonds, making it seamless from the center to the edge and realizing a vibration system with excellent linearity.
In addition, the use of large ferrite magnets and double suspension system improves input resistance and low-frequency elongation.
A 3.5 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
The diaphragm is made of Meta Le Dome made of aluminum. The voice coil is wound directly on this diaphragm, and the special suspension support gives excellent response. In addition, the metal cone itself acts as a heat sink to dissipate heat generated from the voice coil, thus realizing a large allowable input power of 140W per unit.
The network section uses a newly designed circuit incorporating the know-how obtained with SL 700.
By using newly designed choke coils and French Solen capacitors, which are less prone to saturation, the crossover network is simplified to only four elements.
medite is used as the material of the enclosure, and the inside is reinforced with an 8-shaped brace to suppress unnecessary radiation on the side and to reduce box missing.
There was a special speaker stand sold separately.
This all-metal stand is used with pebbles and sand inside the center pole after assembly and is secured to the floor by four cleats at the bottom.
