Celestion Celestion3
¥ 50,000 (2 units 1 set, sold in April 1989)
Commentary
A speaker system designed by Martin Roberts, a staff member of Dr. G. Bank, a research director at Celestion and developer of the company's SL-series.
A 15 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The vibration plate uses felt fiber cone with newly developed high-tech molding to improve low-frequency characteristics.
A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter using a titanium diaphragm is mounted in the high frequency range.
By using polycarbonate for the frame of all units, resonance generated in the steel frame is suppressed.
The network section is a 4-element system unique to Celestion. Ferrite core choke coils are used for low-pass and air-core choke coils for high-pass.
The enclosure is completely enclosed and made of 12 mm thick particleboard.
The optional speaker stand Si24STAND can be used.
The stand is all-metal used with pebbles or sand inside the center pole, and it can be firmly fixed to the floor by four spikes.
