B&W DM12

Commentary

A speaker system designed to solve the problems of small speakers such as narrow frequency characteristics and poor linearity.

A 15 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
In the DM12, special attention is paid to the selection of the low-frequency unit, and the peak-to-peak motion to obtain a certain sound pressure level is calculated, from which the installation of a 15 cm unit is determined.

A 2.6 cm dome-shaped tweeter is installed in the high range.

The network part is designed using the design technology used in 801. The optimum element constant is determined by a computer to achieve accurate amplitude-phase characteristics with low distortion.

The enclosure is hermetically sealed and has a walnut finish on the exterior.

Equipped with an automatic overload protection circuit.
The LED lights the LED lights up and the input signal of the speaker is automatically lowered to prevent damage to the speaker due to DC leakage from the amplifier. This protection circuit is self-resetting and automatically returns to the normal condition after the overload is released.
