Commentary

Stereo cassette deck equipped with newly developed mechanism and adres.

As a noise reduction system, it is equipped with an adres unique to Aurex.
As for adres, the hissing, which was a major drawback of the cassette, has been greatly reduced, while at the same time the dynamic range has been expanded to achieve higher sound quality, while avoiding bleeding noise and distortion.

The PC-X46AD can also play back adres records.
The adres record can be played back after adjusting the CAL with the player. The adjusted level can be stored by the level marker attached to the recording volume, so that it can be set easily without replaying the record each time.

A 2-motor IC logic new simple mechanism is used for the mechanism part.
In this mechanism, the capstan drive and reel base drive are each driven by independent motors. In particular, torque unevenness is improved by using a motor with less cocking for the reel base motor. In addition, in the automatic reverse winding mechanism that changes the winding direction depending on the rotating direction of the motor, a swing-head type gear drive mechanism is adopted instead of the conventional reverse idler. By adopting a high-precision gear and a design that does not require friction in the reverse mechanism, the rotational control capability of the reel base drive motor is improved. In addition, the main rotating shaft is laid out on the same chassis to improve the accuracy of the rotating system.
In addition, independent back tension is set for both constant speed and high-speed operation to prevent the tape from sagging and stabilize the operation. This back tension is also used for braking, making it possible to stop smoothly.

The Super AP (High-AP (High-B Hard Permalloy) head with a high maximum magnetic flux density and a wide magnetic saturation level. The contact surface of this head is hyperbolic, giving excellent head touch and sound quality with little level fluctuation and little distortion.
In addition, a 2-gap AF (Arex-ferrite) head is used for the erasing head.

It uses IC logic control with self-illuminated operation buttons, and the operation part is concentrated in one place and all operations can be done with one touch.

Equipped with pause / mute function.

Timer standby mechanism is adopted, and by combining with a timer sold separately, absence recording and alarm clock playback are possible.

Auto-repeat is possible when the position is set to play / repeat position.

Equipped with Dolby NR system.

Equipped with a backlighting type peak meter of -40dB to + 10 db.

It has an output volume.

The recorder / reamp section uses a DC configuration with an emphasis on sound quality.

When the input selector position is set to FM, the MPX filter is turned ON.
