Commentary
A stereo tape deck equipped with functions such as program minder.
The head is equipped with a cross-field head that Akai has succeeded in putting into practical use for the first time in the world.
In the crossfield method, the signal current is applied to the recording head, and the bias current is applied to the external bias head. Since these heads are in a predetermined spatial position shifted relative to each other, the signal recorded on the tape is recorded without being adversely affected by the bias magnetic field even the bias is applied.
Equipped with a hysteresis synchronous 3-speed motor for the capstan drive, the tape speed can be changed simply by setting the tape speed with the tape speed selector.
Equipped with a program minder, when used during playback, the two selected points are automatically played in the forward and reverse directions.
This allows you to repeat automatic playback by pressing the Stop button.
If a sensing tape is inserted in the middle of the tape to be used, it automatically rotates in the reverse direction when the sensing pin is touched while the tape is running.
It can also be used for permanent reverse playback.
Manual reverse operation is possible.
It is equipped with an electromagnetic brake to perfectly stop the running of the tape.
It can be used from type 5 reel to type 10 reel.
There was a wired remote controller sold separately.
