Commentary
Stereo cassette deck equipped with GX (glass & crystal ferrite) head, A. D. R. and Dolby system.
The GXC-65D is a cassette deck, and the GXC-65 is a GXC-65D tape recorder with speakers.
AKAI's own GX head is mounted on the head.
This is the first head in the world to use single-crystal ferrite as a core material and glass as a support. By covering the entire head with glass, there is no adhesion of dust or dirt. Moreover, since the head is excellent in abrasion resistance, the head touch can be maintained in the best condition without drop-out or fade-out, and the dynamic range and S / N ratio are improved.
Furthermore, because of the advantages of the core material and glass, only a small amount of bias current is required to flow. Therefore, the gap space of the head can be kept shallow, and a sharp focus bias is taken ideally, so that there is no high-frequency attenuation.
Equipped with the A.D. R. (Automatic Distortion Reduction) system, the recording equalizer automatically changes according to the level of the input signal and records according to the dynamic range of the tape. This enables recording in a high-frequency range with good linearity. This eliminates the reduction of the recorded signal due to prior distortion and demagnetization, resulting in clearer sound quality.
The Dolby system is installed as a noise reduction system.
When recording to tape, the Dolby system automatically increases the volume and compresses the overall volume difference when the input signal is only in a range below a certain level or when the overall volume is small and noisy, and when playing back it automatically attenuates by the increased amount and returns to the original balance, reducing the noise by the restored amount.
It is equipped with an original new mechanism, Invert-O-Matic (automatic inversion) system.
This mechanism allows the cassette to be automatically inverted inside the recorder by simply pressing a button, eliminating the need to re-set the cassette.
Equipped with auto reverse button, Oatley verse recording / playback is possible.
Continuous playback is possible until the stop button is pressed. In addition, recording stops automatically after only one Oatley berth (A side → B side), so there is no need to worry about duplicate recording.
The motor is equipped with a hysteresis synchronous motor.
This motor has features such as less uneven rotation, strong starting torque, and excellent durability.
Equipped with a VU meter.
In order to take advantage of the characteristics of chrome tape, it is equipped with a tape changeover switch which changes bias and frequency compensation amount.
