Commentary

A vertical type stereo cassette deck that can be directly viewed just like a open-reel.

Single crystal GX head is used for the head.
The core of this head is made of a single crystal, and it is uniform to the inside of the tissue and has excellent electromagnetic characteristics. Moreover, since it is made of a pure crystal core, it is excellent in durability. Since the whole shape and the width and depth of the gap can be designed ideally, it is possible to reduce the compensation amount of the high-frequency range on the recording side by the magnetic field of the focus field. This excellent core is wrapped in ultra-hard glass, and excellent characteristics are obtained.

The drive section uses a hysteresis synchronous motor developed by Akai especially for cassettes. This motor uses a SNCII for the shaft and aluminum alloys for the case. In addition to structural features such as the invention of a damper ring and the adoption of fixed metal, it offers high precision and long life.
In addition, stable tape travel has been achieved by combining a 70 mm φ flywheel and an ultra-precision processed capstan shaft with a roundness error of 0.4 μ.

It is equipped with an ADR (Automatic Distortion Reduction) system that was also used in the GX 400 Dpro, a 38 cm 2-track aircraft of Akai.
In this circuit, the compensation amount of the recording equalizer is changed according to the input level during recording, so that the maximum saturation level of the tape can be utilized, and low distortion recording is possible.
Tapes recorded with this system can be played on a normal cassette deck as it is.

The amplifier circuit is designed for high linearity and low noise.
A 2-stage direct connection system with low-noise transistor is adopted for the first stage amplifier. Low noise is achieved by using this amplifier together with a low-noise resistor. In addition, low distortion factor and high linearity are achieved by applying deep NFB.
In addition, an emitter-follower circuit for the headphone and level meter is installed after the line output stage, and the recording equalizer amplifier is connected to the head in parallel with the emitter-follower circuit and drives each of them, thus reducing the influence on the amplifier circuit in the preceding stage.

The Dolby System is installed as a noise reduction system.

The line and microphone input circuits are designed independently to enable mixing recording.

Equipped with independent recording level control for left and right and level control for line output.

Equipped with a large meter.

Equipped with an O. L. S circuit, distortion due to excessive input can be prevented automatically.
This function can be used when the input level cannot be set in advance such as FM Air Check.

Equipped with a tape selector, it supports chrome and low-noise tapes.
The GXC-510D switches the bias and equalizer simultaneously with one touch operation.

Full direct function change mechanism is adopted in the operation part, and direct eject operation from recording and fast-forwarding is possible.
In addition, it has a pop-up mechanism that releases the mode and the cassette half pops out when it is ejected.
The pause switch is a lock type.

It uses a detachable see-through lid, making it easy to perform maintenance such as head degaussing.

Equipped with a 3-digit index counter with a reset button, it can be used for program editing, recording and playback.
