Stereo tape deck with full GX head and auto & manual reverse recording / playback functions.
GX (Glass & Crystal Ferrite) head is used for the head.
For the first time in the world, this head is made by melting ferrite, which is much superior to permalloy, at a high temperature of 1,800 ℃ into a single crystal with high hardness, and is used as a core material. As a result, adhesion of dust and dirt is suppressed and abrasion resistance is improved.
In addition, due to the advantages of the core material and glass, it is sufficient to supply a small amount of bias current. Therefore, the gap space of the head can be made shallow, and a focus-like bias can be obtained, so that high-frequency attenuation is suppressed.
It is equipped with a tape selector switch to handle SRT (Super Range Tape) tapes developed by Akai.
It is compatible with low-noise tapes of other companies.
Uses a 3 gx head system that includes two "GX Combo Head" combination heads that integrate recording and erasing heads.
As a result, the head block has a symmetrical layout with evenly spaced heads, resulting in shorter tape paths and improved performance.
Equipped with Compute-o-matic (automatic recording level control).
The maximum recording level is automatically adjusted to 0 VU, and the other signal levels are adjusted proportionally accordingly, making it possible to adjust the recording level as much as if you manually set the maximum level not to exceed 0 VU while watching the VU meter.
Equipped with a monitor switch, the program source and playback sound of the recorded tape can be confirmed during recording simply by switching the monitor switch.
Equipped with an auto-stop mechanism that automatically stops the mechanism by the action of the shut-off lever when all the tape is wound up, and a shut-off mechanism that automatically cuts the power of the entire unit when all the tape is wound up by the action of the shut-off switch.
Operation can be switched without stopping by direct function change mechanism.
A direct capstan drive motor is used for the drive part to improve the performance.
This motor is designed to detect and amplify the motor speed purely electrically by incorporating a control winding and a speed detection gear into an eddy current outer rotor motor, and to compensate for changes in rotational speed by means of a servo (control) circuit and a frequency generator. Therefore, it is not affected by the power supply frequency, suppresses distortion of the driving waveform, maintains a constant rotational speed, and enables stable driving.
In addition, two eddy current outer rotor motors are used for reel drive.
Since the line and microphone input are separated, mixing recording is possible.
Equipped with a VU meter.
By connecting a separately sold remote controller, you can record, play back, stop, fast forward, rewind, and reverse from a remote location.
Also, if you use a special cord for tape dubbing, you can automatically reverse record on the recording deck by simply operating the playback deck.
