A stereo cassette deck from the MFR (More Flat Response) series that emphasizes compatibility with tapes.

It uses a tape selector that can independently select 3 levels of bias, 3 levels of recording equalizer, and 2 levels of playback equalizer to bring out the capabilities of various types of tapes. In addition, for LH type tapes with the widest variety and different characteristics, it is possible to select the proper bias value with the bias fine adjustment knob. The variable range can be adjusted within ± 10%.

In addition to the VU meter, it is equipped with a two step peak indicator that is sold at + 3 db and + 7 db. For instantaneous, pulsatile sounds that cannot be followed by the VU meter, a yellow peak indicator at + 3 db shows the warning level, and a red peak indicator at + 7 db shows the distortion level.

The motor uses a 38-pulse FG servo motor to control the motor speed so that the frequency generated by the motor is always constant. In addition, the response speed is extremely fast compared to conventional motors, making accurate and reliable speed control possible.
Furthermore, we have improved wow and flutter by using capstan for straightness and roundness, large flywheels and specially shaped reel shafts.

An upright loading mechanism is used to attach the tape.
In addition, Aiwa's original oil dump system is used for the eject operation to protect the soft touch operation feeling and the precise mechanism of the tape drive system.

Equipped with timer standby mechanism, and by connecting a timer sold separately, it is possible to record absence and play alarm clock.
In the stand-by state, the pinch roller and the capstan are set apart from each other, so that no burden is imposed on the mechanism.

Equipped with an input selector that greatly improves the signal-to-noise ratio when recording from line input.
This makes it possible to transmit the signal directly to the recording amplifier, unlike the conventional method in which the signal from the line input is dropped by the resistor and amplified again by the microphone amplifier.

Equipped with a Dolby system that reduces the hissing characteristic of tape stereo.

The autostop uses a contactless system that combines a Hall element and an IC.

The head uses a ferrite guard head that uses ultra-hard ferrite with excellent wear resistance for both core and guard parts.

A quick review queue is used for the cue mechanism, and if you press the fast-forward / rewind button while recording / regenerating condition, you can cue the cue after a monkey talk.

In addition to the recording volume, a read-only volume is installed.

Equipped with a player sync terminal, if it is connected to Aiwa's record player with a Rec Sync terminal, the pause button on the deck will be released as soon as the player starts recording a record.

Equipped with a tape illumination lamp.
