Commentary
This stereo cassette deck was developed by integrating Aiwa's cassette deck technology.
The flywheel is 104 mm in diameter and 448g in weight, and the inertial energy is 5090g ・ cm. Moreover, by taking dynamic balance from both directions of up and down, excellent wow flutter characteristics are realized.
Capstan uses high precision equipment with a roundness error of 0.05 micron.
The dolby circuit, bias oscillator circuit and amplifier circuit all use a stabilizing power supply to improve electrical stability.
The center drive type reel shaft is adopted, and the hub of the cassette is always held in the center while the tape is running. This reduces unnecessary friction and play inside the cassette half and realizes stable tape running.
It is designed to rotate only the minimum necessary mechanism during recording and playback, eliminating elements that unnecessarily increase wow flutter.
High-precision finish flat belt with less transmission loss is used for the belt.
Since the pinch roller holder shaft is fixed to the main chassis, the parallelism between the pinch roller and capstan is accurately maintained and tape travel is always stable.
As a noise reduction system, it is equipped with the Dolby System which improves the SN ratio in recording and playback, and the Dynamic Noise Limiter (DNL) which improves the SN ratio by 2 to 3 dB only during playback.
It is possible to operate independently of each other, but it is possible to improve the S / N ratio further by combining them.
Equipped with a 2-step peak indicator that lights up in 2 steps of + 3 dB and + 7 dB, it indicates the distortion level for a pulsed signal that cannot be followed by the VU meter.
The tape selector uses a 3-step switching system with independent bias and equalizer.
In addition, when a CrO2 tape with a detection hole is used, the bias and equalizer are set automatically.
The head uses an FG head that uses ultra-hard ferrite with excellent abrasion resistance for all core and guard parts.
In addition, the head is supported at 4 points, and it is precisely adjusted so that it does not tilt forward, backward, left or right.
Adopts a swinging auto-stop mechanism using a Hall IC.
