Commentary
FM/AM tuner equipped with NFB, PLL and MPX circuits.
The front-end section employs a junction-type FET with good high-frequency characteristics and a frequency number line type 3-row varicon. The IF stage employs an IC-based differential IF amplifier with excellent limiter characteristics, which has been carefully examined by differential gain direct-viewing analysis.
NFB, PLL and MPX circuits are used in the MPX section.
This circuit reduces noise and distortion by applying NFB (negative feedback) similar to audio amplifier to MPX circuit using PLL / IC, thereby improving audio characteristics.
The AM tuner section uses a low-distortion detection circuit to improve sound quality.
In addition, the antenna of the AM section does not use a conventional bar antenna, but uses a combination feed system that forces an FM antenna with an AM antenna.
The meter is equipped with a two way meter that operates as a tuning meter when receiving FM and a signal meter when receiving AM.
