YAMAHA NS-5X
¥ 21,000 (1 unit, around 1987)
Commentary
A speaker system developed as a small model for digital and AV applications.
An 18 cm unit with SFCC (Super Fine Ceramic Composite) cone is used for the low range.
SFCC cone is produced by driving fine ceramic powder into the surface of flexible, elastic cone paper.
As a result, while taking advantage of the elasticity of corn paper, sound separation is improved by the hardness of fine ceramics on the surface.
In the high-frequency range, a 3.5 cm dome type unit is adopted that uses HN titanium by the CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) processing method in which the surface of titanium is made into High Nitride (nitriding) to form a lightweight and highly rigid nitride film on the surface.
In order not to affect the TV screen, it is a magnetic shielding type. In the NS-5X, the unit is a double magnet system to prevent magnetic flux leakage. In addition, the woofer comes with a shield cover.
