A quick reverse deck that omits functions such as dbx from V-R1.

The tape reversal mechanism uses TEAC's unique I. R. (infrared) combination tape sensor.
This system uses infrared rays to optically detect the boundary between the recording tape and the reader tape, and the phototransistor quickly catches the reflected infrared rays and instantly completes the inversion. This sensor realizes a high-speed quick reverse of approximately 0.4 seconds.
In addition, micro-computer control is adopted for switching the tape running to suppress noise when reversing.

A fixed 4-track head has been adopted for the head to ensure stable running.
Since the 1st / 2nd track is used for forward (A-plane travel) and the 3rd / 4th track is used for reverse (B-plane travel), no excessive load is applied to the head part.

A hard permalloy head is used for the recording / reproducing head, and a double-gap ferrite head is used for the two erasing heads for the forward and reverse heads, in order to cope with metal tapes.

The basic mechanism of tape travel employs a 3-motor configuration with a high-precision DC servo motor exclusively for the capstan, a DC motor exclusively for the reel, and a DC motor for mechanical drive.
Operation noise is minimized by not using a solenoid, and the 3S mechanism of soft, smooth and silent is realized.

The amplifier has a DC configuration that reduces the number of capacitors in the signal system, so that noise in the signal transmission system and sound blurring due to phase change can be eliminated.
In addition, the equalizer amplifier, microphone amplifier, headphone amplifier and meter amplifier all use a ± 2 power source DC configuration amplifier circuit to improve sound quality.

Equipped with a block repeat mechanism that repeats continuously 6 times.
The microcomputer memorizes the start memory (at the beginning of the repeated block) and stop memory (at the end), and playback and rewind are repeated between these blocks.
The microcomputer judges the shortest distance for all rewinding, and the block repeat mechanism operates over both sides AB and AB.

You can choose from three tape running modes : normal and normal one way recording and playback, reverse and reciprocating recording and playback, and endless playback.

Equipped with 4-digit LED counter.

Peak hold type 16 dot LED level meter level meter (with FINE SETTING LEVEL display)

Equipped with 100 mm stroke slide volume.

Equipped with a 3-stage switchable (BIAS/EQ) selector.

Wired remote control is included.
