C-1mkII
Commentary

This is a cassette deck with upgraded C-1 for metal tape.

The C-1mkII has a tape selector with a metal tape position.
The CX-8 BIAS/EQ blank card (sold separately) provides the best recording conditions for metal, cobalt (chromium), and normal tapes. With the CX-8 attached to the main unit, unscrewing the two screws on the surface of the CX-8 creates a semi-fixed volume. The TO-8 transmitter (sold separately) adjusts the recording sensitivity, BIAS, and EQ finely. The CX-8, which is precisely adjusted for each tape you listen to, can be used under the best conditions for each tape.
In the case of the Reference card provided with C-1mkII, switch the selector switch to correspond to each tape.

A 3-head configuration is used for the head part to bring out the characteristics of metal tape.
In addition, a newly developed erasing head is used to solve the problem that metal tape is hard to erase.

The power of the oscillator is increased in consideration of the margin of the bias fine adjustment position.

The rack handle that was standard equipment in C-1 has been changed to an option sold separately.

The C-1mkII had an extensive lineup of peripheral devices that could be upgraded according to the application.

The optional MX-8 is a 4-input, 2-output audio mixer. Each input channel is equipped with a microphone (with 20 dB attenuator) / line switching mechanism, a low-cut filter (100Hz/200Hz), and a pan pot.

RX-8C is a unit of dbx system type II.

The CS-8 is a portable case that can mount C-1mkII, MX-8, and RX-8 simultaneously. It can be used as a stationary system rack because the front and rear lids can be removed.

The TO-8 is a battery-powered test tone oscillator for adjusting the BIAS/EQ blank card CX-8, and can be used to adjust all tape decks, not just the C-1mkII.
The frequency can be selected from 400 Hz, 6.3 kHz and 12.5 kHz and the output can be selected from -10dB and -30dB.
