Commentary
This is a front-operated cassette deck designed with the theme of usability.
A rotary twin lever system is adopted in which all modes are combined into two levers (for constant speed running and quick winding) for each function.
As a result, the recording standby state is achieved by one action of the lever operation, eliminating troublesome operations during recording. Also, when recording is stopped, it always stops via Rec / Pause, so there is no need to worry about the click noise that occurs when recording is canceled.
In this twin lever, when one lever is in the mode operation, the other lever is locked at the stop position, so that the two levers do not enter the mode operation simultaneously.
It uses a 45 ° -90 ° side-opening cassette holder for ease of cassette loading and unloading and maintenance.
The cassette holder can be opened by 45 ° simply by pulling the ejector lever to the side. The cassette holder can also be opened by hand at 90 °. When the cassette holder is opened at 90 °, when the operation lever is set to play, the head and surrounding parts are moved forward, making it easy to clean and demagnetize the head and pinch roller.
Equipped with a tape stop indicator, the pinch roller is automatically released when the tape finishes winding in Play or early winding, protecting the mechanism and the indicator flashes red.
It also flashes during Rec Pause to indicate that recording is in standby mode.
It is equipped with a peak level indicator that detects an instantaneous large input that cannot be displayed by the level meter. The LED will light for an input of + 6 dB or more to warn of excessive input.
A newly designed DC-servo type FG motor is used for the mechanism, and a flywheel combined with a 2.5 mm capstan is driven by a precision polishing flat belt.
Equipped with a Dolby system that reduces tape hiss.
An amplifier dedicated to the microphone is mounted, and an excellent dynamic range is secured by separating it from other circuits.
Equipped with an independent switching mechanism for bias and equalizer, it is compatible with chrome tapes and low-noise tapes.
The head is equipped with an HD ferrite head with excellent wear resistance.
Equipped with a microphone / line input switching mechanism that further enhances the Dolby effect.
